Annie tells us that “you’re never fully dressed without a smile.” But sometimes you’re just not fully dressed if you’re not fully dressed.
I am so glad for dress rehearsals. I thought I knew what was going to happen. I learned my lines, have been practicing my songs. The dancing was hard for me, but it was getting better. I had no idea how hard it was going to be to change my costume though, and how fast I would need to do it. I actually missed coming in a few times because I didn’t get changed fast enough. As Miss Sara says though, “Rehearsal is a good place to make mistakes.” I hope everyone has an easy time changing costumes this next few weeks!

Yesterday, I made a mistake on stage and I was scared because I thought everyone would be mad at me. But they weren’t!
Even though they weren’t mad the whole show started losing energy and it was all because of me making that one mistake. Although everything went down hill after that, we sat down at the edge of the stage and talked all about how the show lost energy and that we needed to know that rehearsal was the place to make mistakes. I know that if they don’t happen in the actual show everything will be just fine.

Tomorrow is opening night for Annie Jr. I have a feeling that this is going to be a great show! If you don’t know what Annie is then you might as well come see the show! If you want to see me (Molly) or my fellow blogger (Elena) then you can certainly come any night. We might not be our main characters but we will certainly be onstage!!!!
I am very proud of everyone in the show, we have just got to remember to be quiet backstage! I hope that everyone remembers that if you have a microphone, its never off only turned down and if you don’t have microphone, there are overhead microphones that are always on and even if you are offstage and the curtains are closed the audience can still hear everything you say! I feel if the cast follows all of the rules this show will be spectacular!!!!

Kudos to all! I am so proud of all the hard work everyone has put into the show including the stage hands, the choreographers and the director! Although we have some bumps here and there we are doing awesome! I love all the work and dedication everyone has put into the show! We are doing so good that on Saturday, we will be preforming some songs from Annie Jr. at the Belk on Craig Drive(behind Rockfish, Saltgrass, and La Madeleine)! The cast that will be preforming on Saturday is the same cast that will be performing at Heard Craig Hall in historic downtown McKinney at 2:15 and 7:15 that day. If you wish to see the other cast, they will be performing on Friday and Sunday this week! If you want to see more dates times or want to enroll in a show coming up then you can buy tickets by going to www.mckinneyyouththeatre.com

Annie is a story that a lot of people really love. I’ve watched the movie since I was little and listen to my CD a lot! But this story was written a long time ago in a time that is very different from today.
What can a story that was written so long ago teach a kid like me? A bunch:
- Even if today is bad, tomorrow can be better
- The reason everyone likes Annie is that she is so cheerful
- Doesn’t matter how big (or small) we are, we need to look out and protect others
- Someone always finds out the truth (Just ask Miss Hannigan and Rooster)
- Annie is not afraid to be a role model or a leader
What lessons does Annie teach you?
